How do I schedule an appointment?
You can book online through our website or call us at (781) 352-4849.Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Yes! We’re open weekdays 9–6 and Saturdays 8–5. The latest comprehensive appointments start one hour before closing.How far in advance should I book?
Saturday and evening spots fill quickly—usually about 2 weeks out. Other times are often available within a week.Can I fill out my forms before my visit?
Yes. Online forms are automatically sent when you schedule online, or we’ll text/email you the link if you book by phone.What if I’m running late or need to reschedule?
Just let us know as soon as you can. If you’re more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule your visit. -
What services do you offer?
We care for patients ages 5 and up, providing comprehensive eye exams, urgent care, contact lens services, myopia control, dry eye treatment, diabetic and glaucoma care, cataract evaluations, and a full optical. Visit our Services page for details.What brands do you carry?
We offer a rotating selection of eyewear, including Etnia Barcelona, State Eyewear, American Optical, DB4K, Paul Smith, Gucci, and Balenciaga.
We work with all major contact lens brands, including options for specialty and medical lenses.What should I do in an eye emergency?
Call us right away—same-day appointments are available during business hours.
After hours, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.Do you take my insurance?
We accept VSP and most major health plans, including MassHealth, Medicare, BCBS, MGB Health Plan, Harvard Pilgrim, Cigna, United Healthcare, WellSense, CCA, Tufts Public Plans, and more. If you don’t see your plan listed, give us a call. We’re always adding new plans.What if I don’t have insurance?
A comprehensive exam is $155 and includes retinal photos and a glasses prescription.
Urgent medical visits are $190 and include all diagnostics and treatment.
Contact lens evaluation fees vary based on your needs.
Patients without insurance can also enroll in a VSP Individual Vision Plan for savings on exams, glasses, and contacts. -
How do I request my records?
Submit a request through our Forms page or stop by our office.Is there a fee for medical records?
Your first records release is free; additional requests may have a small administrative fee.How long does it take to receive my records?
Most requests are completed within 5 business days.
If your records are coming from a previous provider, transfers may take up to 4 weeks depending on their system. Let us know if it’s urgent and we’ll do our best to expedite your request.

Scheduling and Appointments

Appointments can be made by calling the practice at 781 352-4849, or by visiting the Home page.

Yes. We are open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays, so comprehensive appointments can be scheduled at as late as 5:00 PM. On Saturdays, our hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so the latest comprehensive appointments are scheduled at 4:00 PM.

For popular appointment times, like Saturdays and evenings, we are scheduling about 2 weeks out. If your schedule is more flexible, you can often be seen within 1 week.

If you book an appointment through our website, you will have access to online intake forms that can be completed prior to your appointment. If you schedule an appointment over the phone, we will send a text or email link to our online intake forms.

We understand that things come up. If you cannot make your appointment or will not make it on time, please let us know about it as soon as possible.
If you are running more than 15 minutes late, we will have to reschedule your appointment.
Services and Insurances

We provide a variety of optometric services for adults and children (generally 5 years and up), including comprehensive eye exams, urgent care, diabetic and glaucoma care, cataract evaluations, conventional and specialty contact lens services, myopia control (Ortho-K, MiSight, low-dose atropine), and eyewear sales and service. We have a wide selection of independent eyewear and high-online shopquality lens options that can be purchased in-office. Contact lenses can be ordered in-office, by phone, and through our online shop.

Our eyewear selection is constantly changing, but some of our favorite current brands are Etnia Barcelona, LOOL, State Eyewear, American Optical, DB4K, Paul Smith, Gucci, and Balenciaga. We work with all major conventional contact lens brands. We also currently work with Paragon and Euclid Ortho-K lenses and ZenLens scleral contact lenses.

During normal business hours, we have same day appointments available for urgent and emergent situations.
After hours, we recommend that you call 911 or seek care at your nearest emergency room.

We are providers for VSP (Vision Service Plan), as well as most major health insurances, including MassHealth, Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Mass General Brigham Health Plan (fka AllWays Health Partners), Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Community Care Alliance (CCA) Tufts Health Public Plan, Cigna Healthcare, United HealthCare, Well Care, and WellSense Health Plan (fka BMC Health Net). We are working to expand the number of plans we accept, so call us if your insurance is not on this list.

A comprehensive eye exam is $155.00 and includes a full ocular health evaluation, an updated glasses prescription, and non-dilated retinal photos. Urgent medical eye exams are $190.00 and cover all necessary diagnostics, imaging, and treatment during the visit. If you're interested in contact lenses, the evaluation cost varies based on your specific needs—please contact us for details.
To help make eye care more affordable, patients can also sign up for a VSP® Individual Vision Plan, which offers savings on exams, glasses, contact lenses, and more. It's a great option if you don't have vision coverage through an employer
Medical Records

To initiate a records release, you can visit our Forms page and complete an online request or stop by our office in downtown Norwood.

There is no fee for the first release of medical records. Subsequent requests are subject to administrative and postage fees, as appropriate.

For current patients of MODERN EYES, a records request can typically be sent within 5 business days. For records being transferred from another practice, it may take up to 9 weeks, including the time needed to transfer the records between different electronic medical records systems. Please let us know the urgency of your request and we will do our best to expedite the process.
